The player antes in and the dealer deals five cards to the players and five to himself, and turns one of his cards face up. Now the players can make any additional bets ("call" bet) or surrender. If the player surrenders they lose the hand and their ante.
If the player makes the "call" bet then the dealer turns over te rest of his cards. To continue on to the 'showdown' the dealer must "qualify" by having at least an Ace-King or better. If he does not qualify, the player wins the ante but the "call" bet is simply returned, no matter what the cards show.
If the dealer qualifies then they have a showdown, with a catch. If the player wins, the ante pays even money. But if they win with anything better than a pair, the house then pays a multiple of the "call" bet based on a bonus ranking. The better the hand, the higher the bonus.
Carribean Poker: BETTING
In Caribbean Poker there is two rounds of betting. The first is the ante, the second round comes when the dealer turns one of his cards face up. If a player likes what he sees and thinks he is still in the running, he can place a "call" bet, which is fixed at twice whatever he anted and plays on. If he doesn't "call", then he surrenders and forfeits his ante.
PAYOFF
The payoff in Caribbean Poker is very simple. If a "call" bet is placed and the dealer doesn't qualify, the player wins even money on his ante and the "call" bet is simply returned.
If the dealer qualifies and the showdown is won by the player he gets even money on the ante and the "call" bet pays out according to the following:
| Hand | Payoff | Royal Flush | 100:1 | Straight Flush | 50:1 | 4 of a Kind | 20:1 | Full House | 7:1 | Flush | 5:1 | Straight | 4:1 | 3 of a Kind | 3:1 | 2 Pair | 2:1 | 1 Pair | 1:1 |
If the showdownis lost the dealer then takes both the bets and it's time for another hand.
